Passage Arts provides a platform for multidisciplinary risk-taking art that examines provocative ways of thinking about social change and the core issues of our time. The mission of Passage Arts is to increase society's understanding of art and its evolving role in contemporary culture. Passage Arts aims to support visual artists, build a community audience, stimulate dialogue and promote further engagement with art and interdisciplinary media through exhibitions, publications, events and community collaboration.

Dedicated to presenting benchmark exhibitions on long term view, Passage Arts showcases art of regional, national and international relevance that engages the Dallas and Metroplex communities. Passage Arts explores innovative and challenging ways to connect art and viewers in the 21st century. It serves as a destination and gathering place to experience art, nurture creative discourse through innovative exhibitions and programs, including lectures, film screenings, music, performance and literary readings.

As part of its commitment to support expansive approaches to visual artists and cross cultural investigations, Passage Arts includes the publishing of catalogs for documentation and critical contexts.

An important, ongoing component of its mission is Passage: An Online Magazine of Visions and Voices, which serves as a platform and informative resource on behalf of artists, poets and writers. The magazine provides a greater visibility through wide distribution in a larger public.

Passage magazine is a forum for insights, dialogues and connections that examine social, political and aesthetic issues—systemic racism, climate change, as well as universal human themes. Begun in Spring 2020, Passage, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit journal, serves as an unfiltered catalyst for transformation, in addition to social and spiritual enlightenment. Each Passage issue provides individual sections for artists and poets from Texas, across the country and internationally to offer personal and unique perspectives.

Passage Arts, 845 S. Trunk Avenue, is a historic industrial warehouse situated between Fair Park and downtown Dallas. Built in 1919 as a manufacturing facility, it features a 7,500 square foot exhibition area with a 28-foot ceiling height and original clerestory windows. The property encompasses 1.08 acres, including a 1,500 square foot courtyard for outdoor installations, events and programs. Located near the intersection of I-30 and I-45, Dallas, it is an 8-minute walk from commuter rail stop.

Owned and directed by Kirk Hopper, Passage Arts breaks new ground while sustaining the vital exhibition series of his former, longtime gallery Kirk Hopper Fine Art.
